Who We Are

In Their Honour

Constable Brett RyanConstable Brett RyanConstable Brett Ryan
Cst. Brett Ryan served as a respected police officer, firefighter, paramedic, and hockey official. Committed to serving and protecting his community, he uplifted those he encountered, mentored youth, and led with integrity and purpose. This foundation was founded by his parents, Laurie and Bob Ryan, to honour who he was, the life he lived, and the sacrifice he made. His legacy of leadership, empathy, and relentless dedication continues to make a profound impact, even in his absence.

In Their Honour Foundation is a non-profit organization that was created in honour of our son, Constable Brett Ryan, who was tragically killed in the line of duty on March 16, 2023. Brett devoted his life to serving others - beginning as a paramedic, then a firefighter, and ultimately a police officer with the Edmonton Police Service. He embodied everything a first responder stands for: compassion, selflessness, and an unwavering commitment to protecting and serving others.

The unbearable heartbreak of losing Brett is a pain no family should ever have to endure. From that grief came a powerful resolve to carry his legacy forward. It is our mission to honor Brett's memory by recognizing all fallen first responders, supporting those who continue to serve, and helping their families find strength, connection, compassion, and healing.
