Our Mission

The mission of our foundation is to honor and preserve the legacy of fallen first responders through purposeful fundraising initiatives and meaningful community engagement. We are dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of those currently serving, while empowering youth by providing access to positive role models and promoting healthy lifestyle choices. We are united in purpose to ensure that no hero is forgotten, no family is unsupported, and no future is without guidance.

Our Vision

We envision a nation that not only honors the sacrifice of fallen first responders, but actively supports the well-being of those who serve today. Through community-driven initiatives and youth empowerment, we seek to build a future rooted in resilience, compassion, and service - where every act of bravery is recognized, every life of service is supported, and every young person is inspired to lead with courage and integrity.

Our Story

This foundation was created in honor of our son, Constable Brett Ryan, who was tragically killed in the line of duty on March 16, 2023. Brett devoted his life to serving others - beginning as a paramedic, then a firefighter, and ultimately a police officer with the Edmonton Police Service. He embodied the true spirit of a first responder: compassion, empathy, understanding, selflessness, and an unwavering commitment to protect and serve others. Whether on the ice as a hockey official, in uniform while on duty, or simply as a respected member of the community, Brett made it his mission to guide and uplift others while treating everyone with dignity, respect, and kindness. He exemplified the core values that define our nation.

From the irreparable sorrow and profound grief of losing Brett came a powerful resolve to carry his legacy forward. Our mission is to honour Brett’s memory by recognizing all fallen first responders, supporting those who continue to serve, and helping their families find strength, connection, compassion and healing - while also mentoring youth and inspiring future generations.

Having walked this path of loss ourselves, we are deeply committed to ensuring every fallen first responder is remembered. Through the work of our foundation, we strive to ensure their service and sacrifice are never forgotten - and that their families feel supported and seen.

As a highly regarded hockey official he had a passion for mentoring youth both on and off the ice. He lead by example, inspiring others with integrity, acceptance, and a deep sense of purpose. In recognition of this, our foundation also empowers youth by promoting healthy lifestyle choices, fostering positive connections, and providing access to meaningful role models.

Through remembrance, support, and youth empowerment, we carry Brett's legacy forward - turning our loss into a lasting impact.
